  • First news of 41st Jazzfestival 2021

    Against all odds, we were able to successfully host our Jazz Weekender in August 2020. This year, we are heading towards more “normal” conditions, even though the exact meaning of “normal” remains to be determined. Since we do not know what kind of governmental safety regulations will be in place in the summer, we have yet to decide on the exact set-up of the festival, specifically our sitting and standing room capacities at different venues. That is why ticket sales still remain on hold.

    With a heavy heart we decided to cancel the small winter festival this year.
  • Obituary for Martin Fuchs

    We are all dismayed and stunned: Martin Fuchs (born May 8, 1969, passed away December 22, 2020), who accompanied the Nexus and the festival for years as a sound engineer, passed away much too early just a few days before Christmas and after a severe short illness.
  • 3 Days of Jazz postponed to March!

    Due to the current situation and the renewed lockdown in Austria, we unfortunately have to postpone the "3 Days of Jazz Festival" in Saalfelden Leogang.

    Once again this year, Saalfelden became a city of music in the middle of the mountains - spreading confidence, optimism and joy with a lot of culture.
  • A summer without Jazz in Saalfelden is like a summer without flowers in full bloom.

    After we learned that COVID-19 restrictions pertaining to artistic and cultural events were easing up, we immediately decided to show the world that the Saalfelden Jazz Festival is alive and well. That’s when the idea for the Jazz Saalfelden Weekender was born. Heralding optimism and confidence, this series of weekend concerts aims to delight music enthusiasts.

    We have all been affected by the events of the past few weeks and months. In Austria, due to Covid19, all events are officially prohibited until August 31, 2020. We too have to accept the developments and decisions of the federal government and announce with a heavy heart that the Jazz Festival Saalfelden 2020 will be canceled.

    We have all been overwhelmed by the events of the past few weeks and months. Many countries are in a state of emergency, and public life - and thus also cultural life - has almost come to a standstill as a result of Covid19.

  • The New Citystage

    The Citystage is moving - to the city square, right before the main days in Congress Saalfelden. This will make this place the seething center of the city!
  • Concerts on August 21, 2019

    It all started at this beautiful square: Entitled "3 Days of Jazz", the first festival took place from19 to 21 May 1978. At that time, about a dozen young music-lovers were working hard to turn this agricultural estate into a festival site. Around 800 paying guests from all parts of the country enjoyed the concerts during the three days.
