Obituary for Martin Fuchs

We are all dismayed and stunned: Martin Fuchs (born May 8, 1969, passed away December 22, 2020), who accompanied the Nexus and the festival for years as a sound engineer, passed away much too early just a few days before Christmas and after a severe short illness.

Anyone who has met him knows that you only had to know Martin for a few minutes to take him into your heart: he was a person full of warm-heartedness, with a great deal of humor and with a composure that seemed to be from another star. Nothing could upset Martin and you could always be sure: When he is on site, simply nothing can go wrong. Together with his crew, Martin Fuchs was responsible for lighting and sound at the Saalfelden Jazz Festival and also at many of our Nexus events. It was always important to him that everything ran perfectly, not only for the benefit of the audience, but he also took great care to ensure that artists from all over the world felt well looked after under his care. Martin was a real team player, a simply good person with a big heart for those who just needed encouragement and he was also someone with whom you could celebrate and laugh together at the end of the days.

Our thoughts these days are with his family, his children and his other friends who surely miss him as much as we do.
Martin, you are missed....

We will never forget you - thank you for everything!
