Bass clarinet player Michael Riessler from Ulm is known as a "genre-crosser between improvisation and contemporary classics, between language and sound, music and dance". Or simply, according to the Munich evening newspaper, as "one of the most exciting jazz musicians ever". In a duo with his son, percussionist Lorenzo Riessler, who triggers the sampled patterns of a phantom band complete with piano, cello and noises, he has already created soundtracks to silent films or accompanied a French punch card organist. As “The Machine” they play the last concert at the Otto-Gruberhalle.
