41. Jazzfestival Saalfelden 2021
Over 60 concerts in seven days
With guided hikes and a bike tour to concerts on the mountains, we wanted to enable our audience to experience the beautiful surroundings of Saalfelden Leogang even more intensively throughout the week. The popular "We hike Jazz" hikes were completely sold out and the free "Mountain Tracks" at various alpine huts in the region were also very well received. A vacant industrial hall from the 1950s, the Otto Gruberhalle in Saalfelden, served as a new concert location, which was breathed new life into this year with extraordinary concerts. Also new was the outdoor stage in the Kollingwald Saalfelden - a meeting place in the middle of greenery.
With the Mainstage at the Congress Saalfelden and the Short Cuts at the Kunsthaus Nexus, those stages that are especially dedicated to international formations returned this year. Great musicians like Marc Ribot, Angelika Niescier or Avram Fefer performed on the Mainstage. In addition to the paid Short Cuts, the Kunsthaus Nexus once again hosted the free concerts of the Nexus+ series. In addition, this year the Stadtpark, already an established venue, was upgraded with a young and attractive gastronomy concept. Both the park and Nexus+ were programmed stylistic measure, thus appealing to a broad audience.
